Ms. Paretsky is raising funds for Neighbors United for Mutual Support, a grassroots group providing legal and material aid to refugees on the South Side of Chicago.

NUMS is a mutual aid program based in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago supporting new neighbors seeking asylum and other legal support. NUMS volunteers assist with applications, childcare, ESL learning, and people's ability to fulfill their basic material needs. As an all-volunteer organization, donations are used to directly support those efforts.
